Next was Portland, also very artsy, but maybe not as homey as Portsmouth. We visited the LLBean outlet, shopped in the Old Port District, and walked along the port trail. We decided to hop on the mail ferry and tag along to some of the islands in Casco Bay. Can you imagine living on an island with no roads? With an hour and a half ferry ride to town? I can see myself moving there and becoming a hermit. This is what Dj thought of the ride:
But the whole story is that the person that told us to go on this little boat trip said that we would get a history of sorts from the crew about the islands and people..... they said nothing. It was kind of like getting on a bus and riding it around for three hours and getting off. But when it was all said and done it was a great little trip because we got to see a lot of beautiful islands. And the best part was seeing Becky's face when she figured out that our camera had zooming abilities (we have had this camera for 3 years). These are the pictures she took.
